Oppo RX17 Pro review

Introduction

While we call this smartphone the ‘Oppo RX17 Pro’, those in China simply refer to it as the ‘Oppo R17 Pro’.

Don’t worry, both hardware are same. The device is an amazing one with a fantastic design and strong hardware.

There are some of it features that raise it coolness factor. One of them is the in-display fingerprint. Of course, the handset is similar to the popular OnePlus 6T – just that this one has some peculiar features.

However, if you are looking forward to seeing a superb sliding mechanism similar to a Snapdragon 845 performance, better look elsewhere.

Nevertheless, there is a 3D TOF sensor at the back of the device, and perhaps, the manufacturers will use it to bring up some big stuffs in the nearest future when rolling out new updates (as it is not functioning much currently)

To get the device, you should have up to €600. Considering that amount, some will wonder why it never came with a Snapdragon 845 chipset.

Nevertheless, the manufacturers ensured they added some things here to compensate (especially in the form of hardware features)

Of course, this is not to say the Snapdragon 710 is not nice. In fact, it is a superb upper-mid-range SoC that can be compared to the Snapdragon 835’s CPU compute powe.

Unboxing the Oppo RX17 Pro

The device’s box comes in a matching superb color that has every of the usual user guides as well as the USB-C headphones. The headphones are nice – maybe that is why the manufacturers failed to add a USB-C. So, search elsewhere to get that.

We should also add that in the box, you will Aldo find a a SuperVOOC-compliant charger that can stand up to 50W output.
