Attention: Ncc Develops National Numbering Plan For Telephone Networks
The Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) says it has created National Numbering Plan (NNP) to set up uniform numbering plan for simple calls to supporters and administrators.
The NCC put forth this known in an announcement on its site on Friday in Abuja.
It said the NNP would give a uniform dialing system to nearby, national long separation, global calls and calls to crisis, exceptional administrations, free of where the call was starting from in the nation.
As indicated by the NCC, other numbering data incorporates, phrasings, dialing system, range codes by zone and essential focus and portable communication number assignment.
It said that some of its wordings are numbering region, trunk prefix, trunk code, index number and worldwide prefix, among others.
“Numbering region is a piece of the nation to which a trunk code has been assigned and inside that territory just the registry numbers are dialed.
“Trunk prefix is the digit or a mix of digits to be dialed by a calling supporter in order to acquire access to a trunk code and the numbering territory.”
The commission said that the worldwide prefix was the number dialed after the global prefix.
As per it, the global number comprises of the nation code of the required nation took after by the national number of the called endorser.
NCC said that it was accused of advancement of the NNP for the Nigerian phone systems both for settled and remote systems.
