PayPorte Stops Payment On Delivery Services

Payporte, a popular online store, has successfully terminated and end the “Payment On Delivery” services it offers to its customers as part of its payment options.

Mr Eyo Bassey, Managing Director of the firm, explained that this decision and step was taken for security reasons. I hope you can recall the Jumia Delivery Man who was killed and dumped into the suckaway, just because the customers was not able to pay for the product ordered.

He also said that the company decided to suspend the “Payment On Delivery” option in order to serve the customers better and also to re-position it’s business for profitability and this has taken effect on April 3rd, 2017.

He also said that customers should use other secured electronic payment options such as bank transfer for payments or online payment in order to reduce risks and security challenges posed by this payment option.

Yea! I pray jumia and other online stores should follow suite.
