For those thaf are interested in getting the legend reborn, this is to wet your appetite
The Nokia 3310 is poised to make a comeback.
The iconic mobile phone, which first debuted in September 2000, became known for its long lasting battery life and durable hardware.
In fact, the unbreakable build quality of the Nokia 3310 helped the best-selling mobile to achieve stardom as an online meme.
Although, it is still possible to buy an original Nokia 3310 on Amazon, the handset is being sold on the marketplace – not by the company itself.
According to the item listing, the features of the Nokia 3310 include a clock, calculator, the ability to store 10 reminders, and four preinstalled games.
Preinstalled on the Nokia 3310 were Snake II, Pairs II, Space Impact and Bantumi.
The refreshed version of the Nokia 3310 (which we can only hope will ship with a copy of Snake II preinstalled) is expected to set customers back some €59 (roughly £50).
It’s unclear whether the revamped mobile phone will include any new smart features – or whether it will include the same low-res software that powered the original.
The budget mobile phone is rumoured to be announced at the Mobile World Congress tradeshow in Barcelona, which begins on February 26th.
News of the latest Nokia announcements comes from renown leaker Evan Blass, aka Evleaks, who claims to have contacted someone briefed with the Finnish company’s plans.
Alongside the revamped Nokia 3310, tipster Evan Blass claims that HMD Global – the company behind the Nokia brand – will also announce a new flagship smartphone.
Dubbed Nokia P1, the new smartphone will purportedly run the latest Android operating system out-of-the-box.
That means users will get the latest features of Google’s Android software, including split-screen apps, better battery life, new granular security settings, and a whole host of new emoji.
Other rumours features for the Nokia P1 include a 22.6MP rear camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, a hefty 3,500mAh battery and one of the latest Qualcomm SnapDragon processors.
The Nokia P1 is expected to ship with an all-metal unibody design, a 5.3-inch display protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
Below the screen, Nokia is rumoured to include a physical home button that doubles as a fingerprint sensor for speedy unlocking of the device, as well as in-app purchases and security features.
