Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom Images and Specifications Leaked

A new TENAA listing has revealed specifications and images for the upcoming Zenfone 3 Zoom. Read on for
more details.

Asus could never justify its wildly ambitious Zenfone Zoom smartphone, the one that featured a bulky camera setup and a premium price tag. It was mostly because it had a terrible sensor and as the rest of the hardware just
couldn’t keep up. But it seems like the Taiwanese company is already working on a successor which is now leaked in a couple of images revealing the specifications and design.

The TENAA listing unravels a relatively less cumbersome Zenfone 3 Zoom with a much compact optics arrangement. Unlike the previous generation, this one sports a metal build alike some variants of Asus’ Zenfone 3 lineup like the ZenFone 3 Max and ditches the significantly better-looking leather aesthetics. Additionally, there’s a dual cam setup housing the secondary telephoto lens with laser-assisted autofocus, although, this one seems much more appropriate for general usage.

In terms of specifications, the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom will reportedly feature a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED panel up front, Qualcomm’s rather outdated (but still efficient) Snapdragon 625 processor, 3/4GB of RAM, 32/64GB of internal storage, a rear fingerprint scanner and 4850/5000mAh battery. Furthermore, there will be a 13MP camera coupled with an additional 12.2MP shooter on the rear and on the front, it will sport a 13MP sensor. It’s quite clear that there will be two variants with a mildly different hardware and price range.

It is currently unclear when Asus will be officially announcing the Zenfone 3 Zoom, however, there’s a good chance we’ll have our first look at it during the Consumer Electronics Show, CES (the
Zenfone Zoom too was launched at CES 2016) which happens in January next year. Unlike its predecessor, the Zenfone 3 Zoom does seem feasible for a regular user as the design looks substantially slimmed down, although, the processor is almost a year old now and it’s bewildering that Asus is still employing it.
