Important Update on the CBN Clean Note Policy
We recently informed you about the drive by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to improve the overall quality of the Naira notes in circulation through the Clean Note Policy and Banknotes Fitness Guidelines.
Following an update by the CBN, please note that the deposit of over-circulated and mutilated banknotes will continue after the previously advised deadline of September 2, 2019.
This means that mutilated and over-circulated banknotes will continue to be accepted in our banking halls.
We kindly encourage you to continue to handle the Naira with care so that, together, we can improve the quality of our national currency.
