Introduction

Apple, like every other serious company, are keen on improving existing products with new ones. Undoubtedly, the latest iPads are the best tablets they have made.

While promoting them, Apple portrays them as computers that can do anything you want. In this review, let us check the things the iPad Pro 12.9 can really do.

The design of this device is pretty ‘fresh’, with bigger screens and smaller bezels. Apple has a new generation of pencils, and we need add that this device has better quad speakers and is good in performance.

Apple’s iPads are now with USB-C ports, plus the camera also got a huge boost. The camera at the back supports Smart HDR, and the one at the front can let you do Face ID and portraits.

But don’t expect to find the Touch ID sensor there. As the Face ID is included, alongside the shrunken screen bezels, then the Touch must be sacrificed.

Now, before going on, we should state that there are some people who are waiting for Apple to bridge the gap between macOS and iOS.

For such persons, they expect the firm to begin rolling them out with the new generation of iPads.

Let us start by stating that many people won’t likely mind the change from Lightning to USB-C. In fact, it is likely the trend continues in subsequent Apple devices. However, the ‘other side’ of this discussion is that the new port will make all previous iPad accessories obsolete.

Those that have the old EarPods with the 3.5mm connector should note that the audio port has been dumped with this new set of iPads.

As if this ain’t enough, the old Apple Pencil won’t work with this device, which means you have to spend another money to get the new one (you should budget up to $130 for this).

So, basically, after you’ve splashed $1000 on getting the iPad itself, be ready to spend some more cash on some other things you will need (including the Smart Keyboard Folio).

Unboxing the Apple iPad Pro 12.9 (2019)

You should get this device in a typical white retail box, that also houses an 18W charger with USB-C port. Apart from those, you should also see a 1-meter-long USB-C to C cable in the box, alongside two Apple stickers.

To say it again, there won’t be a Lightning to USB-C port adapter this time around (none of the accessories they already have would work with this one).
