Phantom 8 – Full Unboxing Pictures and First Impression

The TECNO Phantom 8 is one of the best phones released in 2017. The excellent camera and the premium design are some of its great features.

TECNO skipped the Phantom 7 to keep pace with the likes of Samsung and Apple who already have launched the Samsung S8 and the iPhone 8 respectively. This is not the first time a smartphone maker will skip a particular number, Samsung jumped from Note 6 to Note 7 last year.

So without much ado, let’s unbox the Phantom 8.

You also have a quality Assurance seal at the left side of the box-telling you not to accept the package if it’s broken. Well, you may have to look out for this seal when making a buying decision.

Opening the box reveals the usual accessories you will find in TECNO packages. It is a fully accessorized package to be honest. A unit of power cable, USB type C cable, a transparent back case, user guide, Sim ejector tool and pair of earphones.

The 3.5mm audio jack is positioned at the top of the phone for easy access.

Flanked visibly in between the speaker grills and the noise cancellation microphone is the USB type c at the bottom of the device.

The SIM ejector tool

At the left side of the phone, you have the hybrid SIM tray where you will insert your SIM cards (Micro SIM + Nano SIM). You can either use two SIM cards with no option for Memory card or you use one SIM card and a Memory card.

At the right side you will find the volume controller buttons and the power button.

The back houses a dual 12MP + 13MP cameras with TRI-TONE LED flash and just below them is the fingerprint scanner. The fingerprint scanner double as a camera button and also for unlocking the phone

At the of the screen is located a 20MP front facing selfie camera with dual LED flash and the mouth-piece

Overall, the design of the Phantom 8 speaks premium and is very solid in the hands. The Phantom 8 debuts with 12MP + 13MP dual back cameras which is exceptional during my experience with phone. The 6GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage which is expanded to 2 terabytes via a Micro SD card and plus the fact that the device now supports global 4G will go a long way in making a buying decision.

The device will retail for N128, 000 in Nigeria and can be purchased across all TECNO retail outlets starting from November 1, 2017.

This is just the TECNO Phantom 8 unboxing, if you like to know how great the camera is, you may have to wait for the full review in about few days from now. Let’s know in the comments what you’d like us to cover in the full review. Keep the questions coming! It’s your lucky day.
