The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has warned prospective applicants seeking employment into the service not to pay any money to any person or group of persons.

The NIS Comptroller-General, Mr Muhammad Babandede, gave the warning in a statement signed by the service Spokesperson, Mr Sunday James, yesterday in Abuja.

It would be recalled that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Fire Service, NIS and Nigeria Prisons Service boards had announced approval for recruitment in advertorials on Monday. Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)  recruitment update

The NIS boss, therefore, advised applicants interested in the recruitment to follow instructions as stated in the advertisements in the media and shun any monetary request from anybody.

He said “the public is hereby advised to strictly follow the instructions as specified in the advertisement.

“Applicants must shun every request for monetary inducement by any person or group of persons, either in person or through fake online accounts.’’

He reiterated the fact that he had no any facebook account or accounts and urged applicants to report any exploitation to – immigrationpro@gmail.com.

How Universities will Conduct Admission this Year 2017

1. The University senate now has autonomy to select candidates for admission. However the list of selected candidates must pass through JAMB for approval and issuance of admission letters.
2. Whether or not you were posted to a school or not for admission consideration earlier no longer matters. As the posting is no longer valid. 3. For Tertiary institutions that have already conducted their admission screening exercise in line with JAMB stipulations, such screening still remains valid. Candidates that participated in such screening should wait for the release of the admission list(s) by their respective institutions.

5. Candidates should note that the offer of provisional admission by their schools of choice is subject to validation by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The Joint Admission And Matriculation Board held a meeting at the B.O Ukeje Auditorium, Nation Commission for colleges of Education, Central Business District Abuja on Tuesday 28th, 29th and 30th to map out admission screening modalities for Colleges of education, polytechnics and Universities.
The meeting was chaired by the permanent secretary ministry of education, Dr. Shade Yemi-Esan.
After evaluating the screening models of some schools in previous years and other factors surrounding the admission processes in tertiary institution in the country, JAMB released a proposed model for the screening of recommended candidates.
